Within ten years British film industry won several prestigious awards; at 2003 Berlin Film Festival the Golden Bear was given to Michael Winterbottom for his In This World; at the Venice Film Festival Vera Drake got the Golden Lion and The Queen won the Best Actress prize; The Wind That Shakes the Barley won Palm d’Or at 2006 Cannes Film Festival. Joe Wright was nominated for seven Academy Awards for his Atonement and won the Golden Globe.
